| Melbourne Speech and Language Services is registered to provide a range of Medicare and Private Health Insurance Rebates. We are “Helping Children With Autism�and “Better Start�Panel Providers. |

| Medicare’s Chronic Disease Management |
| |
| This program enables you to claim a rebate for 5 Allied Health sessions per calendar year. For each of the 5 sessions you can receive a rebate of $52.95. |
| |
| The Chronic Disease Management referral and team plan are completed by your GP. After the fees have been paid to Melbourne Speech and Language Services, you can take your receipt to Medicare and claim the rebate. There will be a gap between Melbourne Speech and Language Services fees and the Medicare rebate, which parents will need to cover. |

| Medicare’s Helping Children with Autism Package |
| |
| Under the Helping Children with Autism program, a child can be referred by a consultant paediatrician or psychiatrist for the following Speech Language Pathology services: |

Up to four diagnostic/assessment services to assist the referring practitioner with diagnosis or to contribute to a child’s treatment and management plan (for a child under 13 years of age). |
| - |
Up to twenty treatment services from Speech Language Pathologists (for a child under 15 years of age, providing a treatment and management plan is in place before their 13th birthday |

| Helping children with Autism Early Intervention Package and Better Start for children with a Disability |
| |
| Department of Social Services provide up to $12,000 for children with a diagnosis Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome and moderate or greater vision or hearing impairment, including deaf blindness. This funding can be used on Speech Pathology Services and Resources . |

| Private Health Funds |
| |
| Melbourne Speech and Language Services clinicians are recognized by most private health funds. We advise you contact your individual health insurance fund to see if your specific level of cover entitles you to a rebate for Speech Language Pathology Services. |
